LMSW Therapist
Andrea Pierotti
I specialize in the treatment of children, teens, and families, through a systems informed, psychodynamic lens. I accompany clients in self-exploration and change, with a sensitivity to attachment and relational stressors, trauma, and the resolution of depression, anxiety, and C-PTSD.
A message from Andrea
In therapy you can share whatever comes to mind. Distress, joy, doubt, hope, and so much more. All thoughts and feelings are welcome, and act as guides to the ways our inner lives, and situations in the external world, interact to structure life experience.
Thinking together with a caring other, to emerge into what feels best and most right for you, is at the heart of the therapeutic process. My commitment to you is to help create a space of safety, trust, and collaboration, which best lets a process of growth and healing unfold.
I utilize a self-psychology informed, relational approach to therapy, promoting self-understanding and self-acceptance in the service of intentional, self-directed, personal change.

As a former educator in NYC, I have an extensive history working with children and families in both counseling and academic settings. My work with teens and pre-teens, with widely ranging backgrounds and family structures, eventually led me into social work, where I extended my clinical focus to include individual adult psychotherapy. As a therapist, it is my goal to assist clients in untangling what helps from what hurts, and through insight into past and present emotional experience, help clients author new, and more satisfying, relationship and life circumstances.
